چکیده

Conservation of trees which belong to renewable natural resources in developing countries through judicious utilization building industry has been seriously left unattended over the years. The this unprocessed wealth materials could serve as one alternative constituents construction is now a global concern. Therefore, needs investigate strength and water sorption property wood waste partial replacing material brick production for arise. Sawdust, sand cement were mixed together at three different mixing ratios 1 : 1, 2 3. samples replicated times subjected absorption, density compressive tests. results show that effect equal volume sawdust with subsequent increase portion each ratio level gave compact bricks without sudden fracture, reduced unit weight lower properties bricks. potentials be used wall partitioning. introduction also serves replacement concrete making.

Rice Husk and Old Corrugated Container Cement Boards: Performance of Nano-SiO2 on Strength and Dimensional Stability

In this study the effect of nano sized silica particles (nano-SiO2) on the physical and mechanical properties of rice husk and Old Corrugated Container (OCC)-cement boards was investigated. Modulus Of Rupture (MOR), Modulus Of Elasticity (MOE), Internal Bonding Strength (IB), density, water absorption and thickness swelling after 24 hours immersion in water and hardness were meas...

Waste Chicken Feather as Reinforcement in Cement-Bonded Composites

This study investigated the use of waste chicken feather (barbs and rachis) as reinforcement in cement-bonded composites. A series of composite boards consisting of various proportions of waste feather, cement, sand, and chemical admixtures were prepared. Mix workability decreased significantly as the proportion by weight of feathers or ground feathers increased from 5% to 20%. Boards containin...

Utilization of waste glass as sand replacement in cement mortar

In this study, alkali silica reaction (ASR) expansion and strength characteristics of mortar containing waste glasses are analyzed in terms of waste glass content and glass color. Three different colors of waste glasses (white, green and brown) are replaced with sand at ratios of 10%, 30% and 100% by weight. The mixtures used in this study did not show a considerable ASR expansion. All batches ...

Mechanical properties and dimensional stability of cement bonded particleboard from rice husk and sawdust

This study was conducted to evaluate the properties of cement bonded particleboard made from rice husk and sawdust. Sawdust and rice husk fine boards were made using two ratios of cement and particles of 70:30 and 80:20, but rice husk coarse was made with a ratio of cement and particle of 80:20. The density of sawdust and rice husk fine boards in a ratio of cement and particles of 70:30 was 960...

Improvement of sand using Portland cement and polystyrene foam container waste

The goal of this study was improvement of sandy soil using a combination of polystyrene foam container waste and Portland cement. For this purpose, Babolsar sand was used as the base soil. Strips of disposable polystyrene foam container waste in “chips” of 50 ´ 5 mm and 50 ´ 10 mm were added to the soil at 0.0%, 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.3% by weight along with 3% Portland cement at a relative density o...
